Helitrox CCR Deco Procedures Diver

This is the second entry-level certification course for divers who wish to use a closed-circuit rebreather (CCR) for mixed-gas dives using Helitrox as a diluent. The objective of this course is to introduce divers to the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving with a CCR and to develop basic CCR diving skills, up to a maximum depth of 45 meters / 150 feet, using an air/nitrox/helium diluent for formal decompression diving. Students are authorized to use a blend of diluent and backfill with a helium content not exceeding 35% (+/- 5%) and an oxygen content not less than 21%. Students are authorized to use up to 100% oxygen for decompression.

  • Duration: 5 days
  • Depth: 45 m
  • Price per day per person
$380
SKU: C037-CCR-HELITROX

Requisitos

  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Provide proof of 50 logged dives. If you are completing a cross-over course, provide proof of 10 logged CCR dives within the last 12 months.
  • Minimum certification level: TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver, Deco Procedures Diver, or Helitrox Diver, or equivalent from agencies recognized by TDI.
  • If the rebreather is a TDI-approved sidemount rebreather, the student must hold the TDI Sidemount Diver certification or equivalent, provide proof of 10 logged sidemount dives, and meet any additional requirements the sidemount rebreather manufacturer may have.

What will you learn?

Skills

  • Assemble the unit according to the manufacturer’s specifications using the manufacturer’s manual/checklist.
  • Pre-dive checks.
  • Verify the contents of the diluent and oxygen (O₂) cylinders using an O₂ analyzer when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate proper pre-dive planning procedures.
  • Emergency procedures.
  • Use of the BCD/suit and effective management of the breathing loop volume for buoyancy control.
  • Stop at 3–6 meters / 10–20 feet during descent to check for a leak bubble.
  • Monitoring of electronic systems for PO₂ levels (SETPOINT) and switching of setpoints.
  • Manual control of the setpoint if an electronically controlled CCR is not used.
  • Use and adjustment of Heads-Up Displays and computers.
  • Removal and replacement of the mask.
  • Use of the lift bag / delayed surface marker buoy and reel (when relevant and applicable).
  • Proper execution of the dive within all predetermined dive limits.
  • Demonstration of safety stops at predetermined depths.
  • Constant monitoring of the loop volume.
  • Cell validation checks with proper use of diluent and oxygen.
  • Cleaning of the unit after the dive to prevent contamination and the spread of disease.
