Off the coast of Cabo Pulmo is the largest coral reef in the Gulf of California and the oldest reef in the American Pacific. Because of its ecological importance, in order to protect it from overexploitation, a group of inhabitants of Cabo Pulmo organized themselves and with the support of the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur, asked the federal authorities to decree this marine area as a Natural Protected Area.

Reservation confirmations require a 50% deposit. We accept bank transfer, credit card or PayPal. Full payment must be settled in Mexican pesos at the daily USD exchange rate or in cash prior to the start of your dive activity. Deposits for reservations are non-refundable, in certain circumstances, such as unforeseen medical issues or emergencies, the course or dive activities may be rescheduled. Any cancellation less than 24 hours prior to your first day of diving will be charged in full.

You can customize your course or dive trip according to your preferences and schedule throughout the year, we are open for training and diving seven days a week. The schedule can be adapted and subject to change due to weather conditions.
Thanks to this initiative and the joint efforts of the community, scientists, academics, civil society organizations and the municipal, state and federal governments, Cabo Pulmo was declared a 7,111-hectare marine reserve with the category of National Park on June 6, 1995.
Unlike other places in the world, in 25 years of protection, the coral reef of Cabo Pulmo has recovered from overfishing, becoming the marine area with the highest concentration of fish throughout the Gulf of California. A proper protection and recovery of the marine community and the reef has allowed the return of migratory species such as giant mantas, humpback whales, turtles and many species of sharks.
Cabo Pulmo is an example of the ecological and economic benefits provided by healthy ecosystems, becoming one of the main diving spots in the Mexican Pacific and an essential recipient of ecotourism in the state: generating 106 million pesos a year through autonomous and free activities. diving activities. In addition to representing income for the tourism industry, the Cabo Pulmo reef is a source of life that exports 932 tons of fish per year to nearby fisheries, with a commercial value of 22.4 million pesos per year, contributing to the region’s food security. Cabo Pulmo has become a global example of marine conservation with the participation of the community, who continue to promote the sustainable tourism model.
